More Birthday Presents

The box from Papa & Mimi came today with Andrew's birthday presents in it!! He now has the complete saga of Lego Star Wars, a new Optimus Prime transformer, a bug catching kit, a glow pen workbook, and some Pez!!

This post is also the perfect example of the changing faces of Andrew; the first picture has a genuine smile and by the end of opening the presents he is like "Let's get this over with" haha

Andrew is 5 years old today!! He got a new Wii game (Lego Pirates of the Caribbean) from us; a calendar from Uncle Mikey; and lots of goodies from Gramma and Grampa so far!!! Riley even got some goodies too from Gramma and Grampa, and a calendar from Uncle Mikey as well!! He loves his pirate ship cake Daddy and I made him too :)

Riley is having an awesome birthday and Andrew is getting some spoiling too!! Riley officially has his tricycle now and won't have to fight with Andrew everyday to use his! I successfully completed his monster truck cake and I am happy with it; my cakes never look professional but I always have fun with them anyway! Riley dug right in and started eating the dirt immediately as you can see in the picture; he already has a dirty face!!

That brought back memories of when I used to sing to myself along with everybody else; oh, how I used to love my birthday when I was younger!! Now that I have kids their birthdays are so much more exciting, haha!!

Mom and Pa sent me some new bakeware; I am going to have all new kitchen accessories soon!! Thanks guys; I love them!!

Then, Tiffanie and Sarah surprised me with a mini party when we got to the bowling alley!! Sarah made the cake and got me a jar candle and Tiffanie and Cathy got me flowers, so I am having a very spoiled day!!!

Happy Birthday Andrew

So...Andrew's cake didn't even last through the making process :( So, I took his picture with it tonight because it definitely won't last until tomorrow. This was a lot harder than the others I have made and since I am already a beginner it was a disaster unfortunately. The good news is Andrew loved it and he actually knew it was supposed to be a train cake and even told me what each thing was supposed to be as we were putting it on. So, that is all that matters I suppose...

We were going to go to the zoo today for Andrew's birthday (since Adam works tomorrow again) but it was raining here, so as you could see we finished up school shopping and we are going to try to go to the zoo maybe next month on a weekend as long as Adam is off weekends by then.

Here is Riley with his cake and his present. The cake is a lion cake and we got him an authentic Italian-made wooden train with blocks for his birthday from the Primavera Bazaar. He is 1 today... can't believe it!!

I made this pizza birthday cake for Adam; it doesn't exactly look like a pizza, but I was still proud of myself considering my amateur skills in decorating, haha!! He loved it and that is all that counts!!!

Besides my dentist appointment this morning, I had a nice lay-low day, I wish I had gotten more accomplished with my course, but I am going to work on that now that the boys are in bed!

For my birthday dinner I made chicken burgers which were very yummy, but I forgot to take a picture :-( Just pound chicken breasts, sprinkle lemon pepper on both sides. Fry up some bacon, drain on paper towels; using the same pan with the bacon grease fry up the chicken until it is cooked through, put the bacon on top, top with a slice of cheese (I used sliced mozarella) and put it on a bun with some mayo, YUMMY!!!

Adam helped me make my birthday cake yesterday, I am practicing for the boy's birthday cakes, so I decided to try out decorating a purse cake for myself. Besides the frosting, which is always my least favorite part, I was actually pretty proud of myself. It was extremely simple, but decorating is not my forte so I needed something simple, haha!!!

Adam recorded me a birthday song on his new iPhone app that auto-tunes your voice; I tried changing the format several times to get it to upload to the blog, but I didn't have any luck, so I gave in and just recorded it with my camcorder; cheesy I KNOW, but I really wanted to share it with you all so it was my last ditch effort to get it to work on here. I hope you guys enjoy it, I LOVE IT!!!

Riley Alexander Brockman

Riley was born Monday, May 18, 2009 at 6:39 pm at MidCoast Hospital. He weighed 6 lbs 7.9 oz and was 19.5 inches long.

Happy Birthday Mommy!!

Yesterday for my birthday I was very spoiled!! First We had an awesome morning/afternoon at Joker's with Grammy and Grampy, and then in the evening Adam took me out to dinner at Applebee's and then to the movies to see "I Love You Man" It was hilarious and we both enjoyed ourselves immensely!! Adam and Andrew also bought me a Reba Greatest Hits CD!!! I had a wonderful birthday overall!!!

BIG NEWS...

Yesterday was Andrew's actual birthday, so last night we had an ice cream cake for him and he wiped the cream frosting in his hair, haha!!!

Onto the big news...Sgt Jorgensen called yesterday and they want Adam to leave for boot camp within a week, so this is all going to happen very quickly. We had to trace down Adam's GED, pay to have it shipped overnight and AAAHHH the list goes on, but I am trying to stay calm and hopefully this will go off without too many more hitches. I have to try to stay level-headed for Adam since he is probably more nervous than I am with him being the one acutally having to leave. And, I do wonder how Andrew will react to all of this, I am sure it will be difficult at first, but hopefully we can all adjust as a family in the long run. LOOK WHO'S 2!!

We had Andrew's 2nd birthday party yesterday, it was supposed to be at Funtown, but they closed without calling us (AARGHH!) so we ended up going to Joker's and had an awesome time!! He had lots of fun with his family, especially the young ones Kyle, Kali, Teaghan, Holden, Charlie, Katrina and Clayton!!!
