Chocolate Chip Cookies

Yesterday evening while Adam was working with his parents, after Andrew and I finished painting the decks we decided to make Daddy cookies to show him how proud we are of him and how much we love him!! Andrew wouldn't even let me wash his hands first, once I got out that dough, he was all COOKIE BUSINESS!!!! And, doesn't he look cute in my apron??

My Little Painter

We are trying to finish all the work we had planned for the house, clean it out and put it up for sale. So, this weekend we decided to finish painting the deck and my little painter came through!! He was doing a very good job using the little roller, although he definitely wears the paint like me, haha!! Tune into more adventures with my fixer-upper in all areas!!! He is such a good helper, though, he is so cute!!

Processing

Yesterday was Adam's full day in Portland at the MEPS doing his processing. He said there were a few akward moments with the doctors being so "up close and personal" but all went well and he got a list of 100 jobs that he was qualified for, he chose the 5 he liked best and they will notify him which job he will be doing when they call him back for boot camp!! The only thing he found out that he didn't know before was that he has NO depth perception, so thankfully he is not becoming a pilot because he would NOT qualify for that!!! And, he also decided that he is going to enlist for 6 years the first time instead of 4 because you automatically get bumped up to an E3 after boot camp which is a $400 raise from an E1 when you enlist for 4 years. We are very excited and now just have to wait for that phone call when they are ready for him!! But, he was so proud because they gave him his 1st military picture ID with his title officially printed "AIRMAN BROCKMAN" and he got his 1st Air Force T-Shirt which he looks very professional in!!! Andrew and I are very proud of our airman as well!!

THE VETS...

Interesting enough, this morning we took our two cats Sadie and Daphne(supposedly both female) to their first vet appointment and the vet discovered they are both boys, so we have decided to change their names to Stuart and Stanley. It will definitely take me a while to get used to that, but it will come eventually; even the vet said though that their faces DO look like girls, but boys are cheaper to fix so that is good, but you do have to do it AS SOON AS they turn 6 months so they don't start spraying. They are very good cats, though, and they are wonderful with Andrew, so we really can't complain!!!

Update

...After meeting with the recruiter tonight, we found out that Adam will still go down to MEPS next Wednesday for all day processing (phyiscal, weight lifting, bloodwork, etc.) and then will be sworn into the US Air Force, but then he won't be going to Basic Training for up to 6 months. It is still a little nervewracking because they could call at anytime and say "tomorrow" but I guess all we can do at this point is try to relax and take it day by day. We are going to just try to make the most out of the time we still have together before he leaves, but I am anxious for him to get through boot camp and figure out what school he is going to and what trade he will be doing and where we will be stationed so we can get on with the next chapter of our lives, but I guess the Air Force has their own schedule and we have to go with the flow, and like the girls at work keep telling me the military likes to spring surprises on you, so this is just a preview of what the next several years are going to be like, but ALL WORTH IT in the end. Once we get the hang of this, the next step should be simple. But we do appreciate all the continued thoughts and prayers, God knows we need all the support we can get!!!!

BIG NEWS...

Yesterday was Andrew's actual birthday, so last night we had an ice cream cake for him and he wiped the cream frosting in his hair, haha!!!

Onto the big news...Sgt Jorgensen called yesterday and they want Adam to leave for boot camp within a week, so this is all going to happen very quickly. We had to trace down Adam's GED, pay to have it shipped overnight and AAAHHH the list goes on, but I am trying to stay calm and hopefully this will go off without too many more hitches. I have to try to stay level-headed for Adam since he is probably more nervous than I am with him being the one acutally having to leave. And, I do wonder how Andrew will react to all of this, I am sure it will be difficult at first, but hopefully we can all adjust as a family in the long run. Keep us in your thoughts and prayers and wish us luck!!!! Thanks for everyone's support!!!

LOOK WHO'S 2!!

We had Andrew's 2nd birthday party yesterday, it was supposed to be at Funtown, but they closed without calling us (AARGHH!) so we ended up going to Joker's and had an awesome time!! He had lots of fun with his family, especially the young ones Kyle, Kali, Teaghan, Holden, Charlie, Katrina and Clayton!!!

For Starters

Hey Everyone:

SO I decided since Adam just joined the Air Force and we will be moving within the year and maybe going to all kinds of exciting places that I would create a blogger site that anyone that wants to can access. One of my co-workers has one with her husband and when she had her son she gave everyone at work the URL, and I thought it would be perfect for our friends and family too, so thanks Pippy!!! We might be moving a lot and living very far away, but now everyone can see us on a regular basis, I hope you all enjoy!!!!
