Armedeo Orfei

We went to the Italian circus today; it was pretty similar to an American circus except for we didn't understand the ringmaster, but it was a good show, EXCEPT for anyone that knows me really well, knows I DESPISE snakes, and for some reason one of the acts was playing with snakes and alligators, but whatever makes them happy I guess... The rollerskating act was mine and Adam's favorite, the guy spun the girl around by her feet and then by her head which was extremely impressive. Andrew's favorite part was of course the elephant, which he thought it was funny that the elephant was painting the guy's face with mayonnaise. He had a chance to sit on the elephant but he wasn't willing to do that... Riley was dancing to all the music and we had a fun time despite the heat you always get in a circus tent.

Skater Dude

He looks cute, but this probably ups the DANGER risk of a fearless 3-year old; FIRST rollerskates NOW a skateboard. SOMEONE HELP ME, haha!! Luckily, though, he doesn't really know how to ride it, he just thinks it's cool to stand on.

Picking Up

Riley actually enjoys putting his toys back in the bucket, but only because he thinks it's a game, haha!!! Of course within 2 minutes he will dump them all back out, but it's a start!!

Oreo Face

Andrew decided to share his dessert with Riley and he decided to feed his ENTIRE face!! He was very proud of himself, though, and crawled right over to show me, so I couldn't resist snapping a picture of it LOL!!!

Torrilandia

We were going to go to the local fair, so to speak, Luna Park. Yesterday we ended down when they were closed and realized they were only open 4-7 so we headed back at 4 and Andrew had fallen asleep in the stroller and was zonked out. So, we planned on going back today, and were very excited when we saw they were open and running. However, once we got up inside and I went to the ticket booth (luckily the woman had pretty clear English) she said the fair is just for the kids that go to the local schools which is how they get the tickets. Needless to say, Andrew was NOT happy, but we walked down the road and went to the Torrilandia, which is a whole area full of bouncy houses and ride-on toys. Riley was too young for most of it, but he had fun watching Andrew play and riding the rocking horse and the seesaw. So, we managed to turn it into a good afternoon anyway!!!

Riley's 1 Yr Check Up

Riley had his 1-year check up today; he weighed 18 lbs 7 oz and is 29.5 inches long. She prescribed him some different steroid creams and lotions for his eczema, so we will try that out and hopefully get some better results; he is itching constantly and digging them until they are bloody so she also prescribed him some anti-itch (allergy) medicine, which will hopefully minimize that. But, overall he is in GREAT health and growing wonderfully!!!

Happy Birthday Riley

Here is Riley with his cake and his present. The cake is a lion cake and we got him an authentic Italian-made wooden train with blocks for his birthday from the Primavera Bazaar. He is 1 today... can't believe it!!

Helping

Andrew was supposed to be "helping" with Riley's cake; instead he thought it was a good idea to make the frosting left in the bowl green. I didn't realize the exact extent of this until I went to clean it up.... his hands are still tinted a little green, LOL

Dental Clinic

Andrew had his first dentist appointment this morning; he did GREAT, she was very impressed with how well he laid there, cooperated and kept his mouth open "like a big lion" the whole time while she brushed, flossed, rinsed and "painted" his teeth with a fluoride solution. She said he has VERY NICE teeth (pat on the back, Mommy :) ) and there are no concern spots anywhere. He was very impressed with her "magic chair" as he called it and told me all afternoon "I was great. I got my teeth cleaned and it was great." He got a sticker, new toothbrush and floss for being such a "good patient". Now, if only I could get him to enjoy it that much at home.... Daddy thinks a lack of a reward at home might be the problem.... lol

But, I did not get a picture of him in the chair, although it was priceless, so I wish I had, he doesn't have to be seen back for a year, but maybe then if it works out accordingly...

Happy Birthday Daddy

I made this pizza birthday cake for Adam; it doesn't exactly look like a pizza, but I was still proud of myself considering my amateur skills in decorating, haha!! He loved it and that is all that counts!!!
