Holiday Outage Hotel Stay...Fun the first night, sick the rest of the time...

In Vermont with Uncle Mikey

Frosty

I went back to work today since Andrew was feeling a lot better and he, along with the help of Grammy and Grampy, fixed Frosty and sent me a picture. He was finally able to proudly show off his Frosty the snowman!!!

The Past Few Days...

Well, we have had some exciting and yucky things happen in the last week!!

First of all, we went to Vermont to see Uncle Mikey from Friday to Sunday, the ride was long but it went very well and Andrew did really well considering it was 6 hours each way!! It was so nice to see Mikey and get to spend some quality time with him!! (I will upload a few pictures tomorrow afternoon to show everyone!!) That was the exciting part, AND THEN...

For the yucky part, we came home Sunday and overnight it stormed and we lost power. So, Grammy and Grampy ended up getting a hotel room since they had lost power as well so we could all stay warm and be showered until our power came back. In the night on Monday, Andrew woke up sick, poor guy had it coming out of both ends all day yesterday and wasn't able to keep a single thing down. Yesterday evening our power came back on, and this morning Andrew was almost back to his old self. He wasn't sick once in the night and had a plain donut for breakfast and some applesauce mid-morning. Those are two great things!! Then, we weren't home an hour and Daddy was sick throwing up, so I am home taking care of my two boys which hopefully will be back to their old selves SOON!!!

Also, I had to cancel my 28 week appointment, but stay tuned in 2 weeks for my 30 week appointment and more updates on Riley!!! My next appointment date is March 11th!!!

Valentines Goodies

Tonight Andrew and I made little goodies for his Valentine's Day party at Lindi's tomorrow. We couldn't find Thomas Valentines so we got Cars ones instead, but Andrew had a ton of fun helping write them and we attached each person a Reeses' heart!!

26 Week Check Up

I had my 26 week check-up today with Dr. Marotto, Adam really wanted to join me, so the whole family came along for the first time!! Andrew did really well, he played in the little playroom until the nurse came out for us and then he played with a few of his trains on the floor of the exam room. Dr. Marotto let Andrew push the buttom on the doppler and we heard a loud, strong heartbeat and Andrew said "WOW!" but as soon as she had him push the button to shut the machine off he got his coat and ready to go, haha!!!

But overall he did really well, she told him he would be an awesome big brother and he smiled!! When she measured my belly I measure 26 weeks 4 days, so he is either going to be a big baby or I may have him a little early, MAYBE, you never know!!

Update...

Adam got the call that we have been waiting for...

He will be flying out to Texas for boot camp on Aoril 7th; he will be going in as an Missile and Space Systems Electronics Maintenance Apprentice (ALCM). The Tech school for that is also in Texas, I am not sure how long it is but we will get exact dates on that when he graduates from Basic Training (boot camp). This was one of the jobs that he originally signed up for which is wonderful and this one is one of the careers that also has a training program where it would lead to a good civilian career as well when and if he decides to get out. The only thing that I could tell from reading the job description online was this is a career that does not deploy much and you stay in one area for longer, which is a plus as far as raising the kids goes and a good opportunity to continue getting college credits. So, needless to say we are very excited that the time has finally come and look forward to taking the first HUGE step in our little adventure!!

The only downside, I must say, is of course that Adam will most likely not be there when Riley is born and I will not be able to fly out and see him graduate either, but all we can do is look at the positive side and deal with each day as it comes our way. Flying stipulations limit me flying more than 39 weeks pregnant and a newborn baby under 2 weeks old, so ultimately it would be ideal if Adam had a one week window after boot camp before tech school where he might be able to fly home, but hence why there are camcorders and cameras. We will keep you posted!!!!
